Yes you may paint over Blue Max using Ames Maximum Stretch, Paint & Prime, Block & Wall Acrylic or a good quality latex paint. We recommend that you allow the Blue Max to cure a minimum of 48 hours prior to painting over it. Enamel paints or semi-gloss latex paints have less elasticity than Blue Max so if the substrate will be undergoing a lot of movement or thermal-shock we suggest you perform a test patch first to make sure it performs to your satisfaction. Blue Max is an excellent primer for the exterior of a block wall above grade as long as you top coat over it with Ames Maximum Stretch, Paint & Prime, Block & Wall Acrylic or some other premium quality paint. Blue Max will adhere to previously painted surfaces as long as the previous coating is soundly adhered, clean and dry.
