Don’t stop at your basement. You can use Ames Blue Max under your shingles to create a waterproof membrane for your roof.
Preperation
First, make sure the area you are about to coat is clean and use Peel and Stick seam tape on all seams. This is good protocol for all projects. Proper preperation is important to the longevity and integrity of your project.
Application
Apply Ames Blue Max over all the tape and underlayment. Make sure you allow the coating proper time to dry. A slight tack is normal after drying.
Roofing
Finally, apply the felt and shingles as you were planning. Don’t worry! Blue Max seals around the nails and fasteners to create a watertight roofing system.
Watch below as we experiment with the waterproofing capabilities of Blue Max. Remember codes vary from state to state, so consult local building codes before proceeding with any major project.
