Sorry to have taken so long to get back to you with thanks and a progress report.

Given the current weather and economic considerations I think I have gotten to a status where we will get through the winter with no risk of leakage or further damage to the roof or to the interior of the house.

My wife ordered and received from your company enough Ames Super Primer for a two coat application. I cleaned and prepared the roof and applied the primer. I was initially a little worried about applying roofing materials of any kind myself.

Until this experience with your product I was convinced that I would be dealing with sticky, smelly, unmanageable, toxic and uncooperative goo. Wow .... was I surprised! Your primer applies easily and cleanly. It actually had what I considered to be a mild and rather pleasant smell. It pushed where I wanted it to go and didn't run to where I didn't want it. It was visible in its coverage so I could see what parts were done and it became almost clear when dry so I could recognize the underlying roof details. It remained slightly tacky for great adhesion of following coats. But, when dry, it still allowed me to step on it when necessary to reach all areas. It took a second coat beautifully and created an even better primer coating while using less "from the pail" material per square foot. Your estimate of coverage was good and even a little conservative.

When I completed the primer coats, my wife ordered and received from the warehouse of our local Ace Hardware store enough Super Elasto-Barrier for me to apply two coats of that.

Just as with the primer, I was shocked at how cleanly and easily it could be applied. It adhered beautifully and covered/sealed amazingly well.

I could still see the "alligator" texture of some areas of the old roof. But, even though Elasto-Barrier is not intended to be your surface filler, it actually did somewhat smooth the old texture and completely filled all of the actual cracks.

I finished applying the last of the two coats of Elasto-Barrier just minutes before darkness would have stopped my efforts on the last day of decent weather here. Since then we have had some very wet times and some rather cold times and now even a little measurable snow.

The roof is now impervious to all of that!

Cleanup was easy and actually pleasant as I put my hands into the warm soapy wash-up water. All tools I used still look like new after clean-up. There is no mess around the roof area or the yard area or the garage area.

I hope that the majority of professional roofers use your products.It would make for very satisfied customers and it surely must be better for the environment in general than the asphalt or catalyzed rubber alternatives. Your product is certainly easier to work with and easier to clean up than those other products are.

When the weather breaks next spring. I intend to apply two more coats of Elasto-Barrier and then finish with your Maximum Stretch. I am very relieved and thankful that with your help and your company's products we will safely get through the winter.

A secret I shouldn't really share with you is that, when we were threatened with some bad weather just as I had finished the primer coats, I actually considered the idea of going through the winter with just the primer. I'm pretty sure it would have been OK like that but, in the end, I am thankful for the weather break that eventually did let me apply the Elasto-Barrier.

Gene, let me again thank you for your personal attention and advice. You changed this whole project from the nightmare I had feared into a thoroughly successful and satisfying event.

Also, my local Ace Hardware in Wauconda Illinois was good in ordering the product and their warehouse and delivery system got the Elasto-Barrier to us promptly. The local store even loaded it in our vehicle for us.

Please forward all or any part of this commentary to your top management. You are also welcome to quote any of this or use me as a referenced satisfied customer.

(Funny aside - I think I mentioned that I fear heights. But, using your products in this project actually made me think that roofing might be a pretty good business to get into. Later. I came to my senses.)

You're the greatest. I've used a bunch of your stuff here and it is amazing. I built this house in 1978 with a full basement. The area is low and I shouldn't have done it. I always had trouble but when I added an addition on and put in a new exterior stair well to the basement the guys didn't put any waterproofing on the exterior. It leaked like crazy. I didn't take much rain at all either. I try drylock and other things but nothing even slowed it down. Then I found you! I put 5 coats of Block & Wall on the stairwell walls and halfway up on the basement walls hoping that'd fix it so it wouldn't be nearly as bad. That was 2 years ago and it hasn't leaked a drop since! Right now we're getting the most rain we've had in probably 20 years and I just went down to check and it's as dry as a bone! Incredible! And that's not all! I have a large den that has skylights and the roof began leaking several years ago. I never could find the leak so I figured I'd buy the the Super Elasto-Barrier, even though it wasn't meant for shingled roofs. I was desperate. I put on a coat and waited. It rained and leaked. I had a little left so I used it at all the seams hoping that would stop it but it didn't so I looked for other causes. I didn't find anything so I ordered 5 more gallons and put that on the roof and viola!! Success! No more leaks so then I repaired my ceiling and our house is on the market and we have a contract!

Attached are pictures of the building we used Ames Products to refurbish the roof on our commercial building in Clarksville, Tn.. The first set are of the roof after our first contractor finished. He was not a believer; therefore never completed the job successfully, when he was let go the roof still leaked after six months.

The second roofer was behind the concept and you can see why I am sold on Ames Products. The final roofing was completed in three days and the roof no longer leaks. We are looking forward to a no leak roof and lower utility bills.

I USED YOUR PRODUCTS TO FIX A LEAKY RUBBER ROOF I HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH. THE PRODUCTS YOU HAD SOLD ME WERE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN CHEAP TAR. BUT, THE FACT IS THIS IS NOT TAR,... THIS IS A MIRACLE TO ALL ROOF PROBLEMS! YOUR PRODUCTS SAVED ME HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN HAVING TO FIX BIGGER PROBLEMS DOWN THE ROAD.

I FIRST USED 5 GALLONS OF THE " SUPER PRIMER" YOUR STAFF WAS EASY TO CONTACT BY PHONE AND GAVE ME A GREAT TIP TO USE OLD GYM SOCKS TO WALK ON THE SURFACE TO APPLY MY SECOND COAT. THIS WORKED VERY VERY WELL! THANKS! IT WENT ON WHITE AND DRIED CLEAR LEAVING IT VERY TACKY FOR THE SECOND STEP AS MENTIONED.I USED A PUSH BROOM FOR THIS PART OF THE PROCESS. I RECOMMEND PURCHASING THE " AMES SEAM TAPE " THE ONE ITEM I LEFT OUT OF MY CART, ALL SEEM TAPE I FOUND WAS A JOKE, NOTHING COMPARES TO AMES PRODUCTS.

Greater Jefferson Community Center, Inc.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

In 2006 the Greater Jefferson Community Center, Inc. purchase property with a 101-year old building in downtown Jefferson to be used as a community center. Until the non-profit was able to raise money for a new building, we planned to use the older building. That building was in great need of repair, especially the roof. After the City/County condemned the building, the volunteers of Jefferson came together to fix the building up. The repairs took us seven months to accomplish.

Dr. W. Ames Curtright of Ames Research offered to help us fix the roof. He donated over $3,000 worth of supplies so we could fix it. We have now gone through a complete winter with the repaired roof and we are thrilled to report that it does not leak at all. Oregon’s rainy winters are a tough test for any roof. We came through with flying colors.

Thanks to Dr. Curtright, we are using a building that is now, not only usable, but comfortable and inviting.

We have a 95 year old Spanish style house that was impossible to keep cool during the summer. Our electric bill for last August alone was $600 and we still couldn’t get the living room temperature below 90 F….day or night.

This year we were almost ready to sign up for a $25,000 fix when I saw your site on the internet. I ordered 15 gallons of Maximum Stretch…enough for one coat on our roof. With my infrared thermometer, I took the temperature of the living room ceiling before I started. It registered 87 F. By that afternoon, I finished the very easy “pour it out and roll it on” application and the temperature dropped to 75 F.

I wanted to send an email letting you know we enjoyed using your products and appreciated the excellent customer service that was provided as well.

We live in Southern California where the temperature gets extremely hot, this summer it was over 112 degrees. Our house does not have an attic so that sun just beat down on the house and our electricity bill, well let's just say we almost had to take out a loan to pay for it.

After applying the primer and then two coats of Snow Seal there has been a noticeable decrease in the temperature upstairs, not to mention a savings of $175.00 in the electricity bill.

At first we were a little nervous about doing the project ourselves but after talking to the staff we felt more confident and it turned out to be very easy and it looks great. We are really proud of the job we did.

We used Snow Seal on our asphalt roof, it started out only as a test to change the color on the roof to match or blend with the new colors of the home. A blue roof just wasn’t going to cut it on this 2 million dollar property in the desert of Las Vegas. We were in the process of redoing the entire home, a very substantial renovation to say the least. Our goal was to possibly avoid re-roofing as the roof was only a couple years old.

We were amazed at the results as you can see from the pictures. The roof looked incredible, matched the property to a tee, and the biggest benefit was it dropped the temperature in our attic by some 40 degrees, which has made an incredible savings in our power consumption. The product was easy to apply. Clean up was a snap. I recommend this product - it rocks. Saved me $20,000.00 in re-roofing costs and will continue to save me money every month on my power bill.

JUST RECEIVED MY SECOND SHIPMENT OF SNOW SEAL. THIS WILL TAKE CARE OF THE THIRD COAT ON A 8X10 SHED WE BUILT TO HOUSE OUR EMERGENCY BACK-UP GENERATOR AND FUEL SUPPLY. THE SHED WAS BUILT USING HURRICANE RATED CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES AND BUILDING MATERIALS.
