Commercial Rubber Roofs Testimonials
Attached are pictures of the building we used Ames Products to refurbish the roof on our commercial building in Clarksville, Tn.. The first set are of the roof after our first contractor finished. He was not a believer; therefore never completed the job successfully, when he was let go the roof still leaked after six months.
The second roofer was behind the concept and you can see why I am sold on Ames Products. The final roofing was completed in three days and the roof no longer leaks. We are looking forward to a no leak roof and lower utility bills.
Thank you for all your advice
Purchased: Super Primer, Peel & Stick Seam Tape, Super Elasto-Barrier, and Maximum-Stretch.
...We were really pleased with the outcome and hope that you are too. It rained the day it was finished and there were no leaks...
Have a great day!!!
Rubber Roof Testimonial
DEAR AMES RESEARCH,
I USED YOUR PRODUCTS TO FIX A LEAKY RUBBER ROOF I HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH. THE PRODUCTS YOU HAD SOLD ME WERE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN CHEAP TAR. BUT, THE FACT IS THIS IS NOT TAR,... THIS IS A MIRACLE TO ALL ROOF PROBLEMS! YOUR PRODUCTS SAVED ME HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN HAVING TO FIX BIGGER PROBLEMS DOWN THE ROAD.
I FIRST USED 5 GALLONS OF THE " SUPER PRIMER" YOUR STAFF WAS EASY TO CONTACT BY PHONE AND GAVE ME A GREAT TIP TO USE OLD GYM SOCKS TO WALK ON THE SURFACE TO APPLY MY SECOND COAT. THIS WORKED VERY VERY WELL! THANKS! IT WENT ON WHITE AND DRIED CLEAR LEAVING IT VERY TACKY FOR THE SECOND STEP AS MENTIONED.I USED A PUSH BROOM FOR THIS PART OF THE PROCESS. I RECOMMEND PURCHASING THE " AMES SEAM TAPE " THE ONE ITEM I LEFT OUT OF MY CART, ALL SEEM TAPE I FOUND WAS A JOKE, NOTHING COMPARES TO AMES PRODUCTS.
SECOND DAY I APPLIED 5 GALLONS OF THE "SUPER ELASTO BARRIER". I ONCE AGAIN USED OLD SOCK TO WALK ON THE SURFACE TO LAYER THE ROOF WITH THE " SUPER ELASTO BARRIER". I APPLIED THE 5 GALLONS OF THIS WITH A LARGE LONG HANDLED ROLLER. IT WORKED WELL. IT WENT ON GRAY AND SPREAD ITSELF PROFFESSIONALLY TO THE ROOF. IT LOOKS GREAT. AND WORKED WELL.
THIRD AND FINAL I HAVE NOW COMPLETED MY RUBBER ROOF PROJECT ( AGAIN USING A LARGE ROLLER AND WEARING 3 PAIR OF GYM SOCK OVER MY SNEAKERS) WITH 5 GALLONS OF THE "AMES MAXIMUM STRETCH" ROOF COATING.IT WENT ON WHITE AND WILL REFLECT THE SUN AND HEAT FROM THE ROOF AND MY HOME. HOW MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE IT IS ALL COMING TOGETHER! THANK YOU AMES FOR THE GREAT HONOR OF SUPPLYING ME WITH THESE GREAT OUTSANDING PRODUCTS!
ALSO THE CLEAN - UP WAS EASY WITH WATER. ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY ALSO A GREAT PLUS.
WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO SELL THIS HOUSE FOR AWHILE AND NOW MAY JUST DO SO WITH THE HELP OF YOUR PRODUCT. THEN AGAIN WE MAY BE HAPPIER LEFT HERE SINCE WE HAVE CURED A BIG PROBLEM IN LITTLE TIME. THE REST OF WHAT I DID'NT USE OF THE PRODUCT I WILL LATER APPLY TO MY CHIMNEY AND VENT SEEMS.
THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN!
AMES IS # 1

I just finished a job with 3 of your products; Elasto-Barrier, seam tape and Maximum-Stretch. Your products were very easy to use and your instructions were perfect. The roof has not been tested with rain as of today, but from the way the seal was formed, it looks like it will last a long time.
I will certainly recommend your products!

I bought the Elasto-Barrier and Snow Seal from your company back in August and applied it to my roof. It's been raining quite heavily here for quite some time now and I wanted to call and tell you my roof is completely dry. I just wanted to call and thank you. Your product did everything you said it would do. You have a very satisfied customer here.

Old Building Roof Restoration
Greater Jefferson Community Center, Inc.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
In 2006 the Greater Jefferson Community Center, Inc. purchase property with a 101-year old building in downtown Jefferson to be used as a community center. Until the non-profit was able to raise money for a new building, we planned to use the older building. That building was in great need of repair, especially the roof. After the City/County condemned the building, the volunteers of Jefferson came together to fix the building up. The repairs took us seven months to accomplish.
Dr. W. Ames Curtright of Ames Research offered to help us fix the roof. He donated over $3,000 worth of supplies so we could fix it. We have now gone through a complete winter with the repaired roof and we are thrilled to report that it does not leak at all. Oregon’s rainy winters are a tough test for any roof. We came through with flying colors.
Thanks to Dr. Curtright, we are using a building that is now, not only usable, but comfortable and inviting.

We used Snow Seal on our asphalt roof, it started out only as a test to change the color on the roof to match or blend with the new colors of the home. A blue roof just wasn’t going to cut it on this 2 million dollar property in the desert of Las Vegas. We were in the process of redoing the entire home, a very substantial renovation to say the least. Our goal was to possibly avoid re-roofing as the roof was only a couple years old.
We were amazed at the results as you can see from the pictures. The roof looked incredible, matched the property to a tee, and the biggest benefit was it dropped the temperature in our attic by some 40 degrees, which has made an incredible savings in our power consumption. The product was easy to apply. Clean up was a snap. I recommend this product - it rocks. Saved me $20,000.00 in re-roofing costs and will continue to save me money every month on my power bill.
JUST RECEIVED MY SECOND SHIPMENT OF SNOW SEAL. THIS WILL TAKE CARE OF THE THIRD COAT ON A 8X10 SHED WE BUILT TO HOUSE OUR EMERGENCY BACK-UP GENERATOR AND FUEL SUPPLY. THE SHED WAS BUILT USING HURRICANE RATED CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES AND BUILDING MATERIALS. THE ASPHALT ROLLED ROOFING WAS GLUED DOWN TO THE DECKING AND TWO COATS OF SNOW SEAL HAVE ALREADY BEEN APPLIED WITH ONE MORE COAT TO GO. THIS SHOULD STAND UP TO ALMOST ANYTHING OUR FLORIDA HURRICANE SEASON CAN THROW AT US!!! THANKS FOR A SUPERIOR PRODUCT.

V Shaped Roof
Thank you for your assistance with both of my orders. I was very pleased with the Elasto- Barrier product. I had tried two other products for my V shaped roof, but had leaking problems. I used 4 coats of the Elasto Barrier, and no more leak. I am now ordering the Snow Seal for a top coat, and will probably continue to use it for maintenance on a yearly basis in the valley.
I have also recommended the Elasto Barrier to a contractor friend just this morning. You will probably be hearing from him in the near future.

Hi Ames, My name is Mike. I've been applying your Elasto-Barrier paint along with the seam fabric and Snow Seal to problem areas on my 70,000 sq. ft. warehouse roof. The consistent leaks have all been stopped and the need to replace a $300,000 roof looks to be much further down the road. Thanks a lot for the information and products needed.

Flat Roofs Testimonials
I just coated most of our roof with your Ames Research products. They are amazing! I can see why you have been so successful. It's a god send to those of us with flat roofs in the northwest.

I recently did two projects for my home using your Elasto-Barrier and Maximum-Stretch for a flat roof also taping the seam between the house and roof and also sealed the deck around my pool. I have to say that this is the greatest stuff I have ever used and that it is so easy to apply. I simply used a 4" paint brush and a roller and it went on very easily. I have attached a picture I took this am of my pool job. My wife is very delighted also, she said this is the whitest white she has ever seen. Keep up the good work.
Dale here in NJ. Well, I finished applying 3 heavy coats of Maximum Stretch and it rained pretty hard here yesterday and all is as it should be! I truly appreciate all of your input and excellent customer service. I'm not used to actually being helped anymore! Anywho, we'll order some more stuff for I want to have some on hand. I'll send you PIX of the finished product once it quits raining. I also am sending a letter to Dr. Ames regarding his ever-ready and user friendly staff.
Take care and thanks again,
Dr. William Ames,
Last August I discovered your products on the internet and inquired accordingly. Your man Jeff responded right away and we soon had many, many conversations regarding our particular flat roof and it's problems. I sent him many photographs and his opinion on how to handle the job was key to our successful repair. He was a tremendous help and always got back to me ASAP. I have not experienced such friendly and reliable customer support ever before. I'm glad to know there are still folks out there who practice this seemingly lost art.
As far as the products go, I'm a true believer. We had the wettest summer on record in NJ and a fair bit of snow & ice over the winter & our problem has been remedied.
So kudos to Jeff, he is definitely a valuable part of your team. Many Thanks.

I have a small flat roof portico over the front entrance to my home. The roll roofing failed and I was in need of some advice and product information on how to make repairs. I checked the internet for information on flat roofs and the Ames site came up first. I reviewed the site and helpful information contained therein and decided to call your telephone number.
I did not get his last name, but I spoke to Jeff. He was very knowledgeable about my problem and how to repair my roof. I was so impressed with Jeff that I was confident your product was the answer to my problem. Normally I might have thought about my purchase, but because of Jeff, I immediately placed an order. Jeff is an asset to your organization and I hope your product is as good as Jeff.
Hi there- I just want to thank you for your great products and customer service. This last fall we used your coating on a house at the beach in Cambria, Ca. The house has a double parapet roof that has leaked since the house was built in 1988. The builder couldn’t fix the leaks after dozens of attempts. We found a new builder that wanted to redesign the roof at a cost of 55,000. A good bit over our budget. After a week’s work and about $ 1,800.00 of Ames products we have a dry hous
Your Products are Great
I bought some Super Elasto-Barrier, Maximum-Stretch and seam tape to use on my flat roofed garage with rolled roofing. In the eight years I have owned my home I have always had trouble with leaks. I have a 1000 sq. ft. garage so it’s not a small structure. Your product went on with such ease. In the last two weeks we have had a couple of downpours or rain and two days of constant rain. NO LEAKS!! I am so amazed. It is so nice to not have to worry about it anymore. If anyone has troubles with leaks I will pass on your name to them. I am going to let my roof go until next spring to see how tough winter is on it. Then next spring I will get some more Maximum-Stretch and give the areas where I have trouble another coat.
Flat Concrete Roof
For: Peter Wills:
I wanted to let you know how things are with my mom's roof. Back in August of 2006 I inquired about a leaking concrete flat roof and the product you would recommend to stop the leak. Recommended was two coats of Elasto-Barrier and two coats of Maximum-Stretch. I can't remember when I actually purchased the product but somewhere between August 2006 and March 2007 the product was ordered and applied. If you remember I had mentioned the roof
leaks in my mom's living room and in her bedroom. The product was laid down with out any seam tape whatsoever. The rainy season in the Philippines has started and she has advised me that no leaks exist. So far so good! She such a happy camper. I will advise you if there are any changes. I believe the rainy season in the Philippines ends late August or Early September.
Thank you for the advise and for such a great product.
Metal Roofs Testimonials
Thank you for all your time and effort spent on me. This showed me that I was correct in purchasing your product. The service is exceptional and so far the product went on with out a glitch. I was able to do the seams 4 times and the whole roof twice with the 5 gallon can. I included some pictures of the before and after of my roof. Please keep me informed if you do get a Canadian distributor. . .
Thank you again Dama
To whomever it concerns, my name is Mark Lambert and I bought some elastomeric products and seam tape off of you a couple years back. I own and operate a company called Division 9 Ltd. Being a member of New Hope (Church), I took on a 25,000 sq. ft metal roof repair. This building had well over 200 documented leaks. At times during worship services we literally had trash cans catching water in the chapel. After two winters the roof has remained 99.9 percent leak free. The few leaks we've had has been traced to sidewalls. All in all the product and application cost us literally 40% of the cheapest estimates that we've had to repair the roof with only 1 year of warranty. All in all I just wanted to let you know that I would endorse your product whole heartedly and you may feel free to have prospective customers e-mail me for references. Once again congrats on the development of a great product.
Division 9 Ltd.
We recently ordered and applied your “Iron Coat” product to our 2,000 square foot metal building that is being used as our community food pantry and temporary offices for our home for abused and neglected children.
We are more than pleased with the results! The building had developed many small leaks in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. The Iron Coat treatment was easy to apply and we were able to place two+ coatings on the roof in one day.
The results were immediate. Our leaks have all stopped and the reflective quality of the paint is terrific! We have not had to use our AC yet and the temperature inside of the building has remained 20 to 30 cooler than normal.
Additionally, I would like to thank you for your generous donation of the seam tape and the reduction of the price for the Iron Coat.
Ames…you not only have a good product…you have good hearts.

Old Tin Roof
hello Ames staff,
I used your Elasto-Barrier and Snow Seal on my old tin roof and it has worked wonderfully to stop all the little leaks.
I now would like to coat my old rusted metal Bilco door to my basement with some of your products. What would you suggest? The old paint is weathered, pealing and worn.
Thanks for your great products. They saved me a lot of money and the green factor is fabulous.
Metal Patio Cover
Good morning folks,
I had a 15ft x 20ft patio cover with a metal roof. The slope on the roof was not steep enough to keep rain water from leaking through the standing seams when it would pool up during heavy rains. I was contemplating re-building the roof when I came across AMES coatings. I ended up ordering 5 gallons of Max-Stretch at your recommendation. Took it to Ace Hardware and had it tinted brown per your color chart like you said and had no problems. Installed the coating and the leaks have been stopped dead. Was easy to apply and looks great. I am VERY pleased with your product. I am very glad I contacted you and I would like to note your attention and service was great. You have my recommendation for sure. Worth every bit of the cost.
Keep up the great work
I applied your Super-Primer and Maximum Stretch to the roof of my 1995 27' Terry Travel trailer about 2 months ago. The results have been remarkable. The temperature has dropped 8 degrees on average now that the black parts of the roof are once again coated in white. My estimate is that you saved me between $5,000 and $6,000 since that was the cost of replacing the roof. Replacement was the only solution offered to me by several local RV dealers I called looking for help.
I am sending this letter of thanks and appreciation for your recent contribution of 2-gallons of Snow Seal and 1-roll of Seam Tape, and the guidance to solve what was a major problem for our organization.
Greyhound Pets of America is a national organization dedicated to the mission of finding loving homes for Greyhounds that fail to qualify or no longer qualify for racing. We are 100% volunteer run and find homes for over 140 Greyhounds each year in Oregon and Southern Washington.
Our Oregon chapter of Greyhound Pets of America owns a small dog transport trailer that is intergral to our ablility to transport Greyhounds in suppport of our adoption program. Whenever it rained, the trailer leaked and the dogs bedding became soaked and cold. This made it unsafe to transport the Greyhounds very far during the wet season, which as you know is quite long here in Oregon. We had tried several products to seal the numerous small openings in the structure but nothing stopped the leakage and the greyhounds continued to be cold and uncomfortable.
After seeing your product advertised, it occurred to me that it might be suitable as a permanent repair for our trailer. I contacted your office and was given not only the solution to the problem but the support a small non-profit, all volunteer organization such as ours needs. Your specialists determined the correct product for our needs and generously donated the materials and the technical guidance to properly install it. The installation was quick, easy and looks great.
It has now rained several times during our transports and I am thrilled to report that the trailer is completely dry inside and the Greyhounds are warm and comfortable. We recently made a trip from Sacramento California, where we picked up 8 Greyhounds to bring to Oregon. It rained during that 11–hour drive and the Greyhounds were well rested and dry upon arrival in Portland and their new homes.
Thanks to Ames Research and your thoughtful, helpful people for making a difference in the lives of many Greyhounds for years to come. Enclosed are some photos of the trailer with its new Snow Seal roof and some dry, happy Greyhounds. Please let us know if we can return the favor in any way. We would be happy to give an endorsement to your product and have the Greyhounds participate in any advertising you may choose to do.

I finally finished the roof. It turned out terrific. Ames Iron coat, along with the self stick adhesive seam tape, does the trick. I am completely satisfied with the results. Three coats of Iron coat was applied to the roof and it looks great! I've attached before and after pictures you can show anyone questioning the results of your Iron coat for RV's. This project is a 1976 GMC 26 foot RV. A co-worker gave this to me and it is under construction. It is completely gutted and only a framed shell. It had leaks all over. Now it is water tight. Last night during a rain storm I inspected it looking for any signs of water. NONE. The self adhesive seam tape is awesome! I'm satisfied and confident it can be rebuilt without worrying about water damage. Thanks for all of your help. I had many questions along the way and you came through with a smile. Ames employees treat the customers with respect.
Thanks, I'm one happy (dry) camper.
